Beginning on the north corporation line of Lineville, connecting with Washington Street; thence in a northeasterly direction through Sections 17, 16, 9 and 4‑T67N‑R23W to a point approximately 1,300 feet north of the SE Corner said Section 4; thence north following substantially the section line of Section 3‑T67N‑R23W, Sections 34, 27, 22, 15, 10 and 3‑T68N‑R23W, Sections 34, 27, 22 (junction Iowa 2), 15, 10 and 3‑T69N‑R23W and Sections 34, 27 and 22‑T70N‑R23W to the south corporation line of Humeston, connecting with Front Street.

Humeston:

Beginning on Front Street at the south corporation line; thence north on Front Street to the north corporation line.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

US 65 begins on the Iowa‑Missouri State line in Lineville; and travels generally northerly via Lineville and Humeston to the Wayne‑Lucas County line approximately 2 ½ miles north of Humeston, Iowa.

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records US 65 in Wayne County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the old description of US 65 in Wayne County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.

Locate US 65 and its extensions in Wayne County as follows:

Lineville:

Beginning on the south corporation line (Iowa‑Missouri State line) on an unnamed street; thence generally northeasterly to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning on the north corporation line of the City of Lineville, connecting with an unnamed street on the west side of the Chicago, Rock Island, and Pacific Railway; thence in a northeasterly direction along the west side of said railway and substantially parallel thereto, through Sections 17, 16, and 9-T67N-R23W to a point approximately 1700 feet south and 500 feet west of the NE Corner Section 9‑T67N-R23W thence curving in a northeasterly direction to a point approximately 700 feet south of the NE Corner Section 9‑T67N-R23W; thence northerly following substantially the east line of Section 4‑T67N-R23W to a point approximately 1300 feet north of the SE Corner said Section 4; thence northerly following substantially the section line of Section 3‑T67N‑R23W, Sections 34, 27, 22, 15, 10 and 3‑T68N‑R23W, Sections 34, 27, 22, (junction Iowa 2) 15, 10, and 3-T69N-R23W and Sections 34, 27, and 22‑T70N‑R23W to the south corporation line of the City of Humeston connecting with an unnamed street.
